Dan Dinnen
Melbourne, Australia based singer/songwriter, guitar fingerpicker and blues harp wailer Dan Dinnen plays soulful, solo-acoustic blues with a feel and style that harks back to the 30’s and 40’s. Dan has accompanied some of Melbourne's finest blues musicians and has gigged in every State and Territory around Australia, both as a soloist, bandleader, and sideman. He won the 2009 MBAS BLUES PERFORMER OF THE YEAR award, and in 2010 went to the USA to compete in the International Blues Challenge on Beale Street, Memphis.
As well as interpreting classics from the blues repertoire, Dan also pens original blues-infused tunes that draw on a wide range of infuences - especially on the deep well of old time, pre-war country styles. His track "Ain't No Good" won the Song Of The Year in the 2010 Vic/Tas Blues Music Awards.
